Frequently Asked Questions

How do I join?

Please email the Secretary to express an interest in joining the club. The membership year commences in November. For further information, see our Memberships page.

Where is the club located?

The YRC is located at the far end of the oval at the Yackandandah Sports Park on Wellsford Street.

What facilities and parking are available?

For further information about the YRC facilities and parking, see our Grounds page.

Do you have a canteen?

Yes! We have a fully-functional kitchen and provide hot and cold food and drinks at most rallies, competitions and event. EFTPOS available.

Do I need to wear a club uniform and where do I get them from?

We encourage you to wear the club uniform at all rallies and in-house events. Registered Club colours must be worn at official HRCAV events. For further information on uniform requirements and where to source them from, see our Club Uniforms page.

Do I need to report an accident or injury sustained whilst at the grounds?

Yes. Whether at a rally, competition or training alone, if you are riding at the grounds and fall from your horse or are otherwise injured, you must report the incident to the committee and fill in an incident report. If riding alone, please download the form from the HRCAV website here. You can fill it in online. Please also email a copy of the incident report to the Secretary for our records.

If some other incident occurs, eg. a horse injury, dogs causing problems etc., please report it to the committee straight away. We can only deal with incidents that we know about.

When are rallies held? Can non-members attend?

Rallies are usually held on the first Sunday of each month. Rallies are for YRC members only, but sometimes they will be opened up to other HRCAV members, particularly if participant numbers are low. These will be advertised on our public Facebook page. Check out the Rallies page and Calendar for upcoming dates.

Can I bring my dog to the grounds?

The YRC has a “NO DOGS” policy during club events. This is for the safety of horses, their riders and the public. For further information, see our Grounds page.
